about 57 feet along the slope (approximately 28 feet vertical feet) below the road. See
Figure 4A. Approximately 50 cubic yards of material will be required. Material from the
excavation of the new channel in Task 4 may be used. A runoff ditch.will be excavated along
the inside of the access road beginning above the gully and ending in an existing runoff ditch
located approximately 100 feet downhill from the gully. Runoff will be channeled into the
existing ditch that carries runoff to a culvert located about 350 feet down the road from the
gully. In areas where the road is too narrow for the excavation of a ditch, the access road will
be inclined into the hillside via cut and fill. The inside half of the road will be excavated two
feet deep and the material will be filled on the outside half of the road so that runoff will be
carried along the inside of he road. See Figure 4B.
5. Task 9—There are 14 staked locations where cuts will be excavated into the upland diversion
ditch.
6. Task 11 —Six road dips will be installed in the access road. Figure 5A shows typical road dip
specifications.
7. The time for completion of the project has been extended from 26 calendar days to 33
calendar days. The Las Animas County Road and Bridge Department will be installing the
culvert beneath the County road (see Task 4) during the last week of July. Please plan Task
4 work accordingly.
8. All terms and conditions of the Invitation and Bid other than as changed by this amendment
remain the same.
9.
