Whirlwind Mine Materials Containment Plan <br />30100 5110 Road Revision 2 <br />Gateway, Colorado 81522 <br />• <br />• <br /> <br />NEW AND USED LUBRICATING OIL <br />Synonyms: Lubricating oil, engine oil, crankcase oil, machinery oil, motor oil <br />Maximum Quantity On-site: 800 gallons <br />Description: Dark brown to black, viscous, oily liquid, pronounced hydrocarbon odor <br />Potential Health Hazards <br />• Eye: Contact may cause slight to moderate irritation, including burning, <br />redness, and tearing. Contact with hot material may cause thermal burns. <br />• Skin: Prolonged and/or repeated exposure may cause mild skin irritation, <br />including redness, burning, temporary drying/cracking, and acute <br />dermatitis. Contact with hot material may cause thermal burns. Used <br />motor oil and some cutting oils are possible skin cancer hazards based <br />on animal testing. <br />• Inhalation: High concentrations of aerosol or mist may be generated at high <br />temperatures and may be irritating to the respiratory tract, including nose <br />and throat, and may cause difficulty breathing. This material is not <br />expected to present an inhalation exposure hazard at ambient conditions. <br />• Ingestion: May cause 'mild irritation of the digestive tract, including cramping, <br />diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
