TASK 3 PROVIDE ORGANIC MATERIALS <br />Additional organic materials, in the form of dU manure, may be utilized at the site. A <br />total of two (2) tons per acre, or approximately twelve (12) tons, of dried cow manure <br />shall be trucked to the mine site. This manure may be placed in separate piles adjacent <br />to, but not on, the asphalt road at the north side of the Project Area. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement and Payment for this task shall be on a per ton delivered. Payment shall <br />be based upon certified weight slips provided to the Project Manager. The price bid will <br />cover all costs necessary and incidental to purchasing, trucking and stockpiling the dried <br />cow manure at the Project Area. The, unit price shall include all equipment, machinery <br />and labor necessary and incidental to complete the task as described in this <br />specification. Payment will be made only for the price bid in Item 3 of the Bid Schedule, <br />and as work is completed and approved by PROJECT MANAGER. <br />TASK 4 INCORPORATE MATERIALS <br />The reduced slash materials, any organic materials brought to the site as described in <br />Task 3, Provide Organic Materials, and the earthen materials segregated from the slash <br />(excluding the larger rock), as well as the soil materials stockpiled west of the slash <br />stockpile, shall be evenly distributed over the ground surface throughout the Project <br />Area. These materials shall be thoroughly mixed to the extent possible, so that no one <br />area receives a disproportionate amount of any one material type. <br />Following distribution of the soil and organic materials, the entire Project Area shall be <br />deeply ripped. Ripping shall occur parallel to the contour (perpendicular to the fall of the <br />slope) throughout the Project Area. Rippers shall be sunk a minimum of twelve inches <br />(12") into the ground. Ripper marks on the ground shall be spaced no further apart than <br />eighteen inches (18"), center to center. <br />It is likely that metallic or non-metallic debris will be encountered during the ripping <br />operation. As specified in Task 1, Mobilization and Demobilization, these materials shall <br />be removed from the site and be properly disposed of. Debris removal is paid under <br />Task 1, Mobilization and Demobilization. <br />Following application of the soil and the.organic materials and ripping, the area will be <br />severely roughened using a trackhoe or similar piece of equipment in the following <br />manner: <br />- Two (2) tons of certified weed free mulch shall be applied to the ripped <br />surface. Mulch shall be provided by CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to <br />Section 20.2 of the Revegetation Specifications, attached. All mulch shall be <br />certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized <br />State or County Officer. Documentation of certification shall be provided to the <br />PROJECT MANAGER prior to application of mulch. The mulch shall be evenly <br />distributed over the cut surface. Surface roughening will occur simultaneously <br />with distribution of the weed free mulch in order to prevent loss of the mulch due <br />to wind. <br />8
