• The surface facilities at the Whirlwind Project include the following. <br />• waste rock embankment <br />• ore stockpile area <br />• topsoil stockpile areas <br />• water treatment plant and tanks <br />• fuel and oil storage areas <br />• maintenance shops and warehouse <br />• mine offices and shower locker Oroom (dry) <br />• designated parking and storage areas <br />• mine access roads and pads <br />• utilities <br />• solid waste storage (trash, scrap metal, batteries) <br />• ventilation shafts (existing and proposed) <br />• power drops and associated pad areas <br />• ore and waste bins at the Packrat portal <br />• retaining walls at Packrat portal <br />• drainage collection and diversion ditches with culverts <br />• mine sediment pond at Whirlwind portal <br />• powder magazine at Whirlwind portal <br />• magnesium chloride tank at Whirlwind portal <br />• ventilation fan at Whirlwind portal <br />• cyclone fences and gates at Whirlwind portal <br />• portable watchman's trailer <br />• portable generators <br />Approximately one third of the proposed surface disturbance at the Whirlwind Project will be on land <br />that was previously disturbed and reclaimed by previous mine operations. The remaining areas to be <br />disturbed have also been impacted, but to a lesser extent, by historic exploration activities consisting <br />primarily of road and pad construction. Surface disturbance on previously undisturbed ground is <br />largely confined to the waste pile expansion on the east end of the Whirlwind portal site. <br />Whirlwind Mine 07 (rev.
