This item
is a lump sum for labor and equipment, as no haulage
of off site materials is contemplated, per opinions
reflected in Corley letter of 12/22/89.
May 5, 1993- Bids opened;job awarded to Golden Drilling of Salida
June 11, 1993-I informed Dr. Corley by telephone from Steamboat of the
Contractor and start date of June 14 for work at the
site . He is cordial and we discuss water levels which
might be encountered in the drilling, as well as access
to fire from gated private road to north.
June 14, 1993- Job commences. I begin keeping Dr. Corley
informed of the progress and findings of the
exploratory drilling on a weekly basis by leaving
lengthy phone messages on his machine. Dr. Corley
never visits site during working hours.
June 18, 1993- Spoke with Dr. Corley on telephone regarding access
to the site. Informed him that due to rain, wet
conditions, and length of cross-country access from
the gated road to the north,we had decided to put in a
temporary wire gate in the fence along County Road
15 to access the drill locations, as this would disturb
the least area. He said this was all right as long as we
kept the gate closed, as there were a lot of cattle. We
did keep the gate closed or in view during the job,but
never saw one cow in the area during the entire job.
