Figure 2 -2
Natural Soda Sodium Leases
pp
n , O

Vr,d U& I"
> Y M i ni
lrs MrlM.?Y ? +
lL?
22 Leasehold Statues
The original four sodium leases were rencwcd by the BI-M, ,IUIv 1, 2001 for a period of tcn years.
Annual rental and minimum royalty payments were submitted to the Mineral Management Service.
3.0 Project Status
3.1 2007 Project Activities
NSI produced 99,065 tons of sodium bicarbonate in 2007 using cavities 1 A, 511. and 6H. Process
changes were made throughout the year, which increased tonnage. There were no significant
production outages experienced during 2007. Routine "boil outs" were perforned approximately
quarterly throughout the year. Various short shut-downs were required for equipment repair
and/or replacement. The following information summarizes items of significance that occurred in
2007, a summary of the tons mined from each cavity in 2007, a summary of tons produced by
month and a review of regulatory related activities.
3.1.2 items of Significance
• Flow was reversed between wells 51-1 and 6H. 5I-1 is now the injection well and 6H the
production well.
• Well 511-IV was completed to allow production kom the middle of the 5H cavity. This
increase in product, along with the flow reversal has allowed IA to be retired from active
use.
