Biomass production was measured using a double sampling procedure of estimates
adjusted b actual values from representative samples. Weight units are rams unless otherwise noted.
' Three of the ten quadrates were estimated then clipped to derive an actual green weight correction factor used to adjust
estimated green weights.
2 The ratio between estimated and actual clipped green weights.
a Air d weight values were derived from the actual weight of oven-dried clipped samples for each species.
4 Species composition values are based upon the percentage of total above ground biomass production for all species.
5 Utilizing a NRCS & BLM standard conversion rate of grams to pounds per acre (gram weights from ten 9.6 sq. ft. quadrates
converts direct) to pounds per acre).
TABLE7 - Reclaimed Well Pad 4-3H Ground Cover
September 2007
Cover T pe Percent Cover'
Grasses Scientific Name Common Name
AGDA A ro ron das stack um Thicks ike Wheat grass 4.5%
AGSM Agro ron smithii Western Wheat grass 1.4%
BRTE Bromus tectorum Cheat grass 0.3%
ELCI El mus cinereus Basin Wild rye 4.6%
ELJU El mus 'uncea Russian Wild rye 18.3%
ORHY Or opsis h menoides Indian Rice grass 1.4%
STCO Sti a comata Needle & Thread Needle grass 1.7%
Total Grasses 32.2%
Forbs
ASCI Astra a/us cicer Cicer Milkvetch 1.1%
CROC Cre is occidentalis Hawksbeard 0.2%
LILE Linum lewisii Lewis Flax 0.9%
MESA Medics o sativa Alfalfa 1.9%
PEPA Penstemon Palmeri Palmer's Penstemon 4.2%
SAKA Salsola kali Russian thistle 1.3%
Total Forbs 9.6%
Shrubs
ATCA Atriplex canescens Four-win Saltbush 17.8%
EULA Eurotia Janata Winterfat 1.0%
Total Shrubs 18.8%
Moss/Lichen 0.0%
Vegetative Litter 5.7%
Bare Ground 27.7%
Rock 6.0%
TOTAL 100.0%
Data was collected September 7 & 8, 2007 utilizing ten 9.6 square foot quadrates.
