Response: Approximately 200 tons may be stored in each bin. However, the operational plan is to
ship when the bin(s) contain approximately 25 tons. They may, on occasion, contain more than 25 tons,
but never more than 200 tons in each bin. The bins measure approximately 14' x15'in area and are
about 10' to 12' in height. The floor of the bins is concrete and the sides are timbered
b. "Please indicate what type of covering will be used on the bins."
Response: A simple waterproof synthetic or canvas tarp will cover each bin.
4. "Adequate."
5. a. "Please specify what type of ventilation will be used on the Franklin Shaft opening. If a fan
will be used, please specify what size and type of fan will be used and how mounted to the opening."
Response: There will be no surface mounted fan. Any fan or fans will be underground
b. "Otherwise the answer to question five is adequate with the understood proviso that the shaft
closures will be completed to applicable specifications contained in `General Bid Specifications of the
Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program, 2006' or adequately bonded under the Notice of Intent
prior to any prospecting activity on site."
6. a. "If the site is proposed to be left as an industrial site, please indicate that such zoning exists on
the site at this time."
Response: The site is zoned "M" for mining. This is what the site will remain unless the County
chooses to amend its current landuse designation. The original response, "Industrial Site ", was
chosen as an aid to the Division in evaluating the reclamation plan. In fact, the NOI application form
does not require the prospector to declare a use for the land post prospecting.
b. "Please specify which areas will have vegetation established upon them on the map provided
and state how large the area is."
Response: Noted on the attached NOI map. All areas not having permanent structures, roads or
parking areas will be revegetated. The actual are revegetated will be less than an acre (14 acres).
However, COAG has based its reclamation bond for revegetation on one acre. This will ensure that the
Division has adequate bond for revegetation.
c. "Please indicate whether COAG will follow all the recommended NRCS methods specified on
the areas indicated."
Response: COAG will at least follow all NRCS recommendations.
d. "Under the last part of the answer to this question, it is stated `COAG is aware that no planting
is required on the following areas: a) On lands proposed for future mining. b) On any affected land so
long as the chemical and physical characteristics of the surface and immediately underlying materials
of such affected land are toxic, deficient in plant nutrients, or composed of sand, gravel and cannot
feasibly be remedied by chemical treatment, fertilization, replacement of overburden or like measures.'
