TRIPPER MINING INC.
June 26, 2008
Mr. Jason.Musick
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Musick:
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit C-81-010
Second Quarter 2008 Sediment Pond Inspections
RECEIVED
JUN 3 0 2008
Divis,of, ut tteclamatiOns
Mining and Safety
Impoundment inspection results for the second quarter of 2008 are enclosed. All impoundment
inspections were conducted by a qualified impoundment inspector. Inspections took place on
June 19th and June 23-25.
The following items were noted during the second quarter inspection.
• The principal spillway standpipe at No-Name #2 has corroded where the standpipe
connects to the drain pipe. The corrosion has essentially dropped the decant level to the
elevation of the top of the drain pipe. This maintenance item is not currently
compromising the effectiveness of the drainage and sediment control system in No-
Name. Plans are to replace the standpipe during the current construction season.
• Sediment markers were not present at Sage #2, Oak fl and and West Flume. Water elevation
permitting, these markers will be set during the current construction season.
• Due to water elevation, sediment markers could not be seen at West Pyeatt #1, West
Pyeatt #2, East Middle Flume, Deal, Horse and the Industrial Waste Pond. As water
levels permit, the status of these markers will be verified.
At this time, all ponds, except No Name #2, are functioning as designed.
Contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Sincerely,
James M.
