FOUR CORNERS MATERIALS
A division of Oldcastle SW Group, Inc.
25 July 2008
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: M-1986-061- Cugnini Gravel Pit - Annual Report - July 2008
Dear Sir or Madam:

JUN rL 5 `Llt`'v?1
Di,4i5i duty ?,
During the permit year that ended on 20-Jul-2008, the Cugnini Gravel pit continued in its role as
this company's primary source of rock products in La Plata County. Mining activity moved to
the southwestern face of the pit where operations are presently being conducted.
A portable crusher was in operation several times during the past year providing road base
materials and aggregates for use in hot mix asphalt. The stationary asphalt plant produced hot
mix asphalt from July into November, starting up for the 2008 paving season on April 15th.
The 2007 annual report stated that the northern portion of the mined area will likely be reclaimed
in the coming year, once the mining is complete and stockpiles are removed from the area. This
has not occurred. Instead, Four Corners Materials is working on a pit expansion plan for this
area. Reclamation work was conducted on the small drainage near the northeast area of the pit
where storm water eroded the area. The drainage was fixed and a storm water berm and small
pond constructed to prevent similar future events.
A map of the permit area and a check in the amount of $791.00 are enclosed with this letter as
fulfillment of our reporting obligations for the year beginning 21-Jul-2007.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have regarding this report.
Sincerely,
Peter M.
