ORIGINAL - PUBLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1986-101 _
INSPECTION DATE: 6/18/08
INSPECTOROS INITIALS: -RK -
OBSERVATIONS
1) The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as a result of the site
being transferred to Walter T. Pope, Inc from Walter T. Pope. Main purpose of the
site inspection was to verify the current disturbance and make sure the warranty in
the mount of $12,800.00 is adequate to cover the cost of reclamation.
2) Site is a small 110 construction materials permit located approximately 8 miles
North West of Rye Colorado, in Pueblo County.
3) Site was active at the time of the inspection. A front end loader was actively
loading aggregate from the processed stockpiled material along the south side of the
permit area into belly dump trucks.
4) The last time the site was inspected in 2004, the only problem noted was a minor
rill along the west side of the permit area, which the operator ADDRESSED.
5) The entire site was walked and inspected. Post mining land use for the 9.2 acre
permit area is agriculture/ pasture land. The material being mined is very highly
oxidized granite. The operator had placed an adequate berm to protect any drainage
from leaving the site. The berm was found to be in good repair
6) Top-soil depth according the local soil conservation district report in the original
application ranges in depth from 0-6 inches. For the purpose of the financial
warranty calculation DRMS utilized an average of 3 inch cover.
7) The last time the financial warranty was calculated was in 1994, it was increased
from $5,000 to $12,800.00
8) Permit sign and boundary markers were properly posted.
9) Based on the mining and reclamation plan, the current required financial warranty
for the site is calculated to be $29,847.00, which includes a 10% indirect cost.
Enclosed with the inspection report is the detailed itemized cost calculation. Until
the additional warranty is posted the succession application will not be final.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: MR.WALTER T.POPE
OPERATOR: WALTER T_ POP IN C
ADDRESS 9749 STATE HIGHWAY 165
CITY/STATE/ZIP: RYF C-01 QRAnQ 810,69
cc: r CE
F
F SE
F WQCD (CH)
F OTHER
r BL
r FS,
F HW
r HMWMD (CH)
