Cattany
Division Dirkvor
Maurrl Resource Trustee
Re: Pribble Pit, M-2008-029, olores County, Second Adequacy view of
110 (c) application
Dear Mr. Huskey,
On June 1 e, 2008, the Office received your responses to the preliminary adequacy
review conducted for the above referenced application. Overall, your responses were
appropriate; however, some clarification is needed on several points. Also, the public
notice was not published and sent in the correct format. The public notice process will
need to be redone, and the public must have adequate time to submit comments or
objections to the Division. Given this issue, the office will not be able to approve the
application by the decision date of June 28th, 2008. it is not within the offices power to
extend the review period, so it rwommended that you request and extension of the
decision date to appropriately address the foilowing concerns.
i/ 6.3. 3 Exhibit C- MininE Bolan
The process of topsoil removal, segregation and replacement was described very clearly.
Based on the time frame outlined in your response, the topsoil stockpiles life appears to
be about a year to a year and a half, In general, the office recommends that if a topsoil
stockpiles life is greater than 180 days, it should be seeded with a fast growing grass
species after the pile has been constructed, to stabilize it from wind and water erosion.
Please describe how the topsoil stockpile will be stabilized once the topsoil is piled and
segregated, please include a description of the grass seed mix that will be used.
6.3A Exhibit D - Reclamation Plan
For the mvegetation plan, you stated that the area will be seeded with a "Pastureland
Mix," please provide more information about the seed mix that will be applied. Please
list the species of grasses that will make up the mix, and how many pound of live seed
per acre will be applied for each the grass species contained in the mix. This is pursuant
to rule 6.3.4 (c) (iii).
