Top Soil Quantity Recap.
I measured the top soil berms currently in place on the south side of Phase 2 and the east side of Phase 1.
I dug three holes (photos enclosed) in the pasture land areas of the future mining area. The average depth
of what I considered topsoil came out to be approximately 15 inches. I used the "TR" Mining Map C3 &
Reclamation Map "F" to calculate the quantity of available topsoil and volume of topsoil required. My
recap sheet shows the volume of estimated topsoil available versus volume of topsoil required to place the
eight inch lift on the slopes and potential wetlands. The available topsoil is greater than what will be
needed. Sripped topsoil will be put in berms and saved for reclamation. The locations of these berms will
change as the mining area moves upstream.
Item 7. Revised Weed Management Plan
I ask that the enclosed weed management plan be accepted as response to this inspection item. This plan
has been reviewed by the United Companies weed management subcontractor (Eco-Rx Inc.) leader Paul
Schriner. This plan has been reviewed and found to be satisfactory by Mr. Callicutt - the Delta County
Weed Coordinator. A copy of his response is enclosed.
Let me know if you have questions or if more information is needed. RECEIVED
Sincerely, JUN 16 2008
/?A ^ Division of reclamation,
?"W I ) Mining and Safety
Brent Kerr
United Co.
enclosures
