(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1981-043
INSPECTION DATE: 5/20/2008
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS THM
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The N of Douglas Pass site is located 30 miles north of Loma, Colorado off of
Highway 139. The site is a 110c operation that consists of 9.59 acres.
The mine identification sign and permit boundary markers were in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. The
mine identification sign was located at the entrance to the site.
The pit is currently active. The Annual Report indicated that only 0 tons of material was removed in 2007. No
equipment was staged at the site. A stockpile of gravel was observed on the pit floor near the entrance to the site. It
appeared that minimal activity occurred at the site and material is mined on an as needed basis.
Various weeds were observed within the permit boundaries. Tamarisk and Russian Olive were observed within the
permit area; both Tamarisk and Russian Olive are listed as a noxious weed and will hinder the ability of native plant
species to get established which may delay the release of the N of Douglas Pass site. Per Rule 3.1.10 (6), Methods of
weed control shall be employed for all prohibited noxious weed species, and whenever invasion of a reclaimed area by
other weed species seriously threatens the continued development of the desired vegetation. This is not seen as a
problem due to an active weed management plan. However, this is noted as a tool to monitor progress during future
inspections.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no.
970-623-5596.
I & E Contact Address cc:
NAME: Jason Smith ?
