• Mining Plan Approval Document No. CO-0038, May, 1986 <br /> Page 5 of 5 <br /> Special Conditions <br /> Special Condition No. 1. Within one year prior to any disturbance on any <br /> Federal lands, the applicant must perform surveys <br /> of all concentrations of prairie dogs for <br /> black-footed ferrets. The surveys for <br /> black-footed ferrets must be performed using the <br /> current survey methodology recommended by the <br /> U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Surveys <br /> must be conducted by qualified individuals who <br /> have successfully completed the USFWS-sponsored <br /> training for black-footed ferret searches. <br /> Survey results must be submitted to the USFWS and <br /> OSMRE for review and evaluation before any <br /> disturbance may proceed. <br /> Special Condition No. 2 The applicant shall conduct a cultural resources <br /> survey on lands which have not been previously <br /> surveyed for cultural resources. The timing, <br /> magnitude, and extent of the survey shall be <br /> determined in consultation with OSMRE, the <br /> Colorado State Historic Preservation Officer <br /> (SHPO), Colorado MLRD, and the Bureau of Land <br /> Management (BLM). The survey plan must be <br /> submitted to these agencies within 60 days of <br /> mining plan approval. <br /> Special Condition No. 3 Within 60 days of mining plan approval, the <br /> applicant shall submit a mitigation plan dealing <br /> with the potential impacts from subsidence on <br /> cultural resource sites eligible for the National <br /> Register of Historic Places. The mitigatio.i plan <br /> must be approved by OSMRE in coordination with <br /> BLM, the Colorado State Historic Preservation <br /> Officer, and Colorado MLRD. <br /> • <br />
