SO[JTHWEST MINING DISTRICT <br />C A portion of the azea that could be affected by underground mining was surveyed in 1991 by Metcalf Archeological <br />.,onsultants, Inc. A copy of this report is contained in Exhibit VII, Confidential Infomuition. The remainder of the <br />azea requiring survey will be surveyed prior to longwall mining beneath the azea. In order to complete the remainder <br />of the survey, landowner approval was secured. <br />Seismic Survev <br />A limited seismic program will be conducted by Twentymile during the 4th quarter of 1995. A cultural resource <br />survey was conducted by Metcalf Archeological Consultants, Inc. for the proposed seismic lines. The survey report is <br />presented in Exhibit 6C, EMD Seismic Line Survey, and should be placed in the confidential volume. <br />EASTERN MINING DISTRICT <br />A portion of the Eastern Mining district has been surveyed and those records aze available at the local Bureau of Land <br />Management office located in Craig, Colorado. The azeas of new surface disturbance (i.e. new facilities) will be <br />surveyed as per the regulations. Once completed, this information will be forwarded to the Division. Also, if areas <br />that have not been surveyed aze undermined and subsided and repair work is required, the azea will be surveyed prior <br />to initiating the repair. The results of the survey will be forwazded to the Division, and the Division, through SHPO, <br />can comment on the survey and advise if any additional mitigation is necessary. <br />Twentymile contracted Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. to conduct an investigation of site SR T18S. The <br />report for this investigation can be found in Exhibit 6D. Finally, site specific surveys were conducted for the <br />ventilation shaft and dewatering pond azeas. The reports resulting from the surveys can be found in Exhibits 6E and <br />6F, respectively. Please note these aze confidential exhibits and should be handled accordingly. <br />C Phase II Seismic Survev and Mine Water Return Line <br />Four seismic lines and a mine water return line will be constructed by TCC in the fourth quarter of 1996 or the first <br />quarter of 1997. A Class IiI Cultural Resource Inventory was conducted by Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. <br />for the proposed lines. The report is presented in Exhibit 6H of the Confidential Appendix. <br />EMD (Panels 2 Right through 6 Right) (PR 97-04) <br />No new surface facilities are required for mining the remaining reserves in the Eastern Mining District. <br />NORTHERN MINING DISTRICT (NMD) (PR 99-05) <br />No new surface facilities are planned for the Northern Mining District. The site cultural resources site form for this U10 <br />azea is found in Exhibit 6I. The survey was expanded to include the azea within the bormdary of the Fish Creek <br />Alluvial Valley Floor in portions of Sections 16 and 17 in TSN, R86W. The survey report, along with SHPO's <br />response to the survey are presented in Exhibit 6L, Fish Creek Alluvial Valley Floor Cultural Resource Survey, <br />Sections 16 and 17, TSN, R86W. In reference to Section 11, the W/2 of Section 13, N/2 of Section 14, N/2 of Section <br />16, the N/2S/2 of Section 16, and the N/2NE/4 of Sectionl7, al] in TSN, R86W, the survey was not required due to <br />TROS-48 2.04-8.1 04/20/05 <br />
