sepazator located over the BC-101 head pulley removes tramp iron from the coal stream. The magnet is moved
from its operating position to dump any collected tramp iron.
• Conveyor BC-102 dischazges into a steel stacking tube which forms a 5,000 ton open conical storage pile. The
design capacity of BC-102 is 1,200 tons per hour. However, the amount of coal it will carry is a function of how
much coal the slope conveyor can deliver.
Progressive expansion of the coal handling systems and facilities has occun•ed over a number of years, with the
current system capacity (2005) at approximately 10,000,000 tons per yeaz. Further expansion of the mine and coal
handling systems and facilities to the maximum production level of 12,000,000 tons per yeaz, will requue fiuther
modifications or additions to the existing conveyors and facilities to handle the increased production. This will
include increasing the size and/or speed of the conveyors (all conveyors will have partial enclosures).
System modifications to date have included construction of another transfer building to the south of the existing
Vansfer building and installation of a new conveyor belt to convey coal to the stacking tube/coal stockpile location.
Also, a conveyor was installed to handle the waste rock generated

•
TR06-52 2.05-24.1 02/] 7/06
