NMD (Panels 12-Right through 16-Right)(PR 99-OS)
TCC will continue to mine the reserves it controls in the Twentymile Park Basin. The mine will move its operation
mto the Northern Mining District as shown on Map 23, Mine Plan Map. TCC controls all of the coal required to
mine in this area. TCC projects annual coal production at 10 million tons per year.
TCC uses the longwall mining method as the primary technique for ensuring maximum recovery of the resource. It
is planned to install a 1,000-foot wide face, with panel lengths ranging from approximately 13,600 to 17,000 feet in
the Northern Mining district during this permit term. The gateroads, main and submains will be developed by
continuous miner, as is the current practice.
NMD -14-Right Gateroad Alternate Location (MR O1-171)
Currently, TCC is in the process of evaluating if the 1,000-foot wide face can be increased to approximately 1,200
feet or wider. The outcome of the evaluation may limit the face width to something less than 1,200 feet. In order
to accommodate this uncertainty, and initiate the start of the gateroad, an area is shown in red on Map 23 and 23 B
for potential area in which the 14 Right Gateroad will be started. In the event that the evaluation determines that
the 1,000-foot wide face is the correct width for TCC's conditions, the location of the gateroad shown on Maps 23
and 23 B will be followed.
NMD (Panels 17-Right through 21-Right, PR03-06)
TCC will continue to mine the reserves it controls in the Twentymile Park Basin. The mine will continue its
operation into the Northern Mining District as shown on Map 23, Mine Plan Map. TCC projects annual coal
production to increase from the current 10 million tons per year to approximately 12 million tons per year.
TCC uses the longwall mining method as the primary technique for ensuring maximum recovery of the resource.
In Panels 17- through 21-Right, mining will continue in the Northern Mining district during this permit term with a
1,000-foot wide panel and panel lengths ranging from approximately 10,900 to 15,700 feet. The gateroads, main
and submains will be developed by continuous miner, as is the current practice.
NMD (Panels 21-Right through 25-Right (24- and 25- Right Partial), PR06-07)
TCC will continue to mine the reserves it controls in the Twentymile Park Basin. The gateroads, main and
submains will be developed by continuous miner, as is current practice.
WMD (Panels 15-Left through 18-Left -Initial Development of Mains and Submains, PR06-07, TR07-63)
In preparation for future mining in the Western Mining District (WMD), TCC will proceed with initial development
of the main and submain entries for Panels 15-Left through 18-Left, as shown on the Mine Plan Map, Map 23.
Alignment of development entries may be adjusted, as necessary, to address geologic conditions. Main and
submain entries will be developed by continuous miner, as is current practice.
(2) Operation description. A general description and appropriate map(s), prepared in accordance with 2.10,
describing the area of land to be affected over the life of operation, according to the anticipated sequence of mining
and reclamation, and identifying each area of land for which it is anticipated a new, separate, five-year permit will
~be obtained and a performance bond will be posted throughout the operation and any change in a facility or feature
shown under 2.10 which would result from the proposed operations.
2.05-2.1 09/14/07
TR07-63
