III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). This processing and loadout site has been <br /> inactive since June 2001 after the closure of the Lorencito Mine (#C-96-064). Ground <br /> conditions on this day were dry and the weather was warm and windy. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> Underground mine water dewatering was not observed during the inspection. The <br /> dewatering pond remains inactive at this time awaiting installation of a pump into the mine <br /> workings. Pond 7 holds a small amount of water in the inlet area of the pond, as shown <br /> below. <br /> Y! <br /> 4 <br /> Maintenance identified in the November 2007 Division inspection report regarding the <br /> sediment control measures at the RDA conveyor/river crossing has been completed. Straw <br /> bales have been re-established at this location as shown on the two photos below. <br /> 3 <br />
