• COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
Water Quality Control Division
4210 East llth Avenue
Denver, Colorado 80220
RATIONALE
AMENDMENT No. 4
MID—CONTINENT RESOURCES, INC.
PERMIT NUMBER CO-0000396
-PITKIN COUNTY
By letter of September 2, 1986, the permittee has requested the designation of
an alternate discharge point for the Dutch Creek No. 1 Mine. The current
discharge point for this tunnel is outfall 004. The new point will be
designated outfall 026, as shown in figure 1 in the permit. The permittee
wants to retain outfall 004 for possible future use. The permittee wishes to
• begin discharging from outfall 026 as soon as the tunnel complex is completed.
An analysis of potential impacts from this new outfall was performed. The
discharge will be equivalent to that from outfall 004 and will discharge to a
lower point in the same stream segment, thus no additional impact should
result.
This permit action is considered as a minor modification and as such, is not
subject to public notice requirements.
Pages 2, 4b, 5 and 19 of the permit are amended as a result of this action.
Jon C.
