EXHIBIT E <br />RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIMETABLE <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />This is a dryland site with no special or unique character- <br />istics other than it contains a deposit of material suitable for <br />resurfacing county roads. Average annual forge production is <br />approximately 1800 pounds per acre. Tall grasses make up approx- <br />imately 65% of the vegetative cover and the plant community is <br />mostly grasses. <br />The species of vegetation found on the site are Prairie <br />Sandreed, Little Bluestem, Sideoats Gramma, Western Wheatgrass, <br />Sand Bluestem, Sand Bluestem, needleandthread, Switchgrass, Sand <br />sage and assorted weeds. These species makeup 90 to 95% of the <br />grass species on the site. <br />The proposed future use of this site is to return it to it's <br />existing use of rangeland. The landowners agree that this final <br />land use is probably best for this arid piece of ground. Mining <br />will create a 20 to 25 foot depression in the pasture. The <br />nature of the land is such that there is no water on the site and <br />the land has little use for anything other than its current use. <br />This makes the reclamation plan very simple in that, the county <br />will shape, resoil and revegetate the area with grass seed once <br />mining is complete. Review of MAP EXHIBIT F- RECLAMATION PLAN MAP shows <br />how we believe the site will look once mining is complete. <br />The slopes along the outside perimeter of the mining area <br />will be graded 3h to lv as mining progresses. One of two methods <br />will be used, either they will be mined at the 3h to lv slope or <br />the working face will be mined vertical and then a cut/fill <br />operation will be done. An example of is shown on MAPEXHIBITC-1 in <br />the northwest corner where the working face meets the side slope. <br />Note that any slope area to be left when mining is complete, will <br />be created as mining progresses. By preparing this outer perime- <br />ter of the site for reclamation we are reducing the amount of <br />work necessary to reclaim the site when mining is done. If the <br />cut/fill option is used, an adequate setback will be left around <br />the perimeter of the site to do the grading. The simple formula <br />to be used is; ((depth of mine face x 3)=2)+setback, i.e., <br />((20x3)=2)+15=45.0 feet. <br />Whenever mining stops for a given year, the working face <br />will be graded to a 3:1 slope so it is stable during period when <br />there is no mining activity. This will eliminate a near vertical <br />highwall in case livestock or wildlife use the mine during down <br />13
