DENISON MINES (USA) CORP.
2008 ANNUAL REPORT
West Sunday Mine - M-1981-021
The West Sunday Mine resumed operations in May 2007. During the current reporting
period, no new acreage was disturbed outside of the existing disturbed areas. Initial site activities have
included opening of the temporarily closed mine portal.
A Plan of Operations (POO) was submitted to the San Juan Field Office of the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) on April 6"', 2007 to incorporate operations at the Topaz Mine with the existing POOs
for the Sunday, St. Jude, Carnation (covered under the Sunday POO), and West Sunday POO. No
modifications were made to the POO for the West Sunday under this submittal.
Resumption of mining activities took place at the West Sunday Mine in May 2007. A
mining contractor was been mobilized to the West Sunday Mine and ore production is underway. As of the
date of this report, approximately 37,000 tons of ore were produced from the West Sunday Mine and shipped
to Denison's White Mesa Mill, located near Blanding, Utah. Denison plans to mine approximately the same
tonnage of ore from the West Sunday in the upcoming seasons. Based on the current price of uranium, a
portion of the low-grade ore stockpile that was present at the West Sunday Mine has been removed and
shipped to the White Mesa Mill.
A Weed Management Plan consistent with the requirements of San Miguel County and the BLM was
prepared for the Sunday Mines. Noxious weed control was completed using pesticide for halogeten and
knapweed. Application of pesticides for noxious week control is ongoing in conformance with the BLM and
San Miguel County.
An updated Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) was prepared for the Sunday Mines in
November and a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC) was completed in December. A
Mine Compliance Technician was hired in December to conduct periodic inspections of erosion control best
management practices (bi-weekly inspections) and refueling and oil storage and use (monthly) at the Sunday
Mines. A semi-annual compliance inspection of erosion control features at the Sunday Mines was completed
in April and minor maintenance activities for the berm at the toe of the waste rock area are on going.
A Technical Revision (TR-5) for the relocation of the topsoil stockpile was submitted and approved
in this annual reporting period. This resulted in a bond modification which was also completed in this
reporting period.
All mining activity in the coming year will be conducted within the existing Reclamation 112 Permit
boundary. Any changes to the planned operations and disturbances will be submitted to the Division as
appropriate throughout the year.
