DENISON MINES (USA) CORP.
2008 ANNUAL REPORT
Sunday Mine - M-1977-285
The Sunday Mine resumed operations in May 2007. During the current reporting period, one
vent hole (S-9) was installed as approved by the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety and the
Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Initial site activities have included opening of the temporarily closed mine portal. No new
facilities or structures have been installed at the mine site.
A Plan of Operations (POO) amendment was submitted to the San Juan Field Office of the BLM
on April 6th, 2007 to incorporate operations at the Topaz Mine with the existing POOs for the Sunday, St.
Jude, Carnation (covered under the Sunday POO), and West Sunday POO. This submittal also included a
proposal for exploration drilling on the Sunday Claims and the addition of 5 new vent holes for the
Sunday Mine over the next 5 years.
Exploration drilling will take place concurrent with mine operations at the Sunday Mine, and it is
anticipated that 30 exploration holes will be drilled in the Sunday Mine claims in mid-summer and an
additional 30 exploration holes will be drilled in Sunday Mine claims in the late fall. All exploration
activities will be completed under a statewide prospecting bond and written notice will be provided to
DRMS and the BLM.
A Weed Management Plan consistent with the requirements of San Miguel County and the BLM
was prepared for the Sunday Mines. Noxious weed control was completed using pesticide for halogeten
and knapweed. Application of pesticides for noxious week control is ongoing in conformance with the
BLM and San Miguel County.
An updated Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) was prepared for the Sunday Mines in
November and a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC) was completed in December.
A Mine Compliance Technician was hired in December to conduct periodic inspections of erosion control
best management practices (bi-weekly inspections) and refueling and oil storage and use (monthly) at the
Sunday Mines. A semi-annual compliance inspection of erosion control features at the Sunday Mines
was completed in April and no deficiencies were noted at the Sunday Mine.
As of the date of this report, approximately 14,000 tons of ore were produced from the Sunday
Mine and shipped to Denison's White Mesa Mill, located near Blanding, Utah. Denison plans to mine
approximately the same tonnage of ore from the Sunday in the upcoming year. All mining activity will
be conducted within the existing Reclamation 112 Permit boundary; however the addition of five new
vent holes to the Sunday Mine will slightly increase the affected area acreage and the DRMS permit was
amended (AM-2) in September of 2007 to increase the Affected Area to 60 acres. No other changes are
proposed to the Sunday Mine that would require a permit amendment or technical revision.
