(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-197d-ndi
INSPECTION DATE: - "^y R 9nnR INSPECTORS INITIALS: nR2
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine inspection conducted by David Bird of DRMS. Present during the inspection was Mr. Sal
Torres, Safety Manager for Lawrence Construction Company. The site is located in Douglas County about 16
miles northwest of Castle Rock. Access to the site is via Highway 85 south from C-470 or north from Castle Rock,
west on Titan, and south on North Moore Road. Mr. Torres reports that the product at the site has historically
been aggregate, but there has been no active mining at the site in several years. Currently, Lawrence leases
the ground to Recycled Materials Company who recycles concrete and other construction materials.
Minimal equipment was on site at the time of the inspection, including a loader, two small portable crushers,
and a small portable office building. No serious problems were observed during the inspection. The mine
entrance is posted with the requisite sign, but the northern permit boundary could use improvement through
either fencing or signage to discourage public access. With the onset of spring, weeds have started to crop up
and could be a problem if not tended to soon, but Mr. Torres indicated that the company's weed control team
would be on site in the near future. Storm water control structures appeared satisfactory and there appeared
to be no adverse impact to adjacent Plumb Creek.
The Division's recalculation of the financial warranty indicates that the current amount of $294,000 is adequate,
so no further action is required of the operator.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Sal Torres -Safety Manaaer
OPERATOR: Lawrence C'on tr tion omRany
STREET: 9n09 N Moore Rd
CITY/STATE/ZIP: _ Iitth-tnn C'C) Rnt?S
cc: r CE
F BL
r FS
r HW
r HMWMD (CH)
F SE
r WQCD (CH)
F OTHER
