�i <br /> ■ ■3 <br /> lllllllll� <br /> Geospatial <br /> CONFereNce <br /> "Incorporating Geospatial Technologies into SMCRA Business Processes" <br /> http://www.tips.osmre.gov/tips html/Conferences.asp <br /> CALL FOR ABSTRACTS <br /> The Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation, and Enforcement's National Technical Innovation and Professional Services <br /> Program (TIPS)and the National Technical Training Program(NTTP)in conjunction with the Interstate Mining Compact <br /> Commission (IMCC), National Association of Abandoned Mine Land Programs (NAAMLP), and the Western Interstate <br /> Energy Board (WIEB)are requesting abstracts for consideration at the 2008 Geospatial Conference. The theme for the <br /> 2008 conference will be incorporating geospatial technology into administration of the Surface Mining Control and <br /> Reclamation Act(SMCRA). <br /> Topics may include, but are not limited to: <br /> • Geospatial Mapping • Applications for SMCRA Processes <br /> Aerial photography, Mine maps Geospatial tools, Remote Sensing, <br /> GIS, GPS <br /> • Serving, Exchanging, Collecting Geospatial Data • Integrating CAD and Geospatial Data <br /> Geospatial standards . Electronic Permitting <br /> • Database Management, Structure and Format • Field Applications of Geospatial Data <br /> Flat file integration Mobile Computing <br /> Non-spatial database integration • Other Geospatial Technologies <br /> The conference will be held in 6 sessions with two concurrent sessions each day over 3 days. Paper submission is <br /> strongly encouraged but not required.A limited number of shorter presentations will be accepted and presented in <br /> evening sessions. Limited exhibit space is also available. <br /> The 2nd National Meeting of SMCRA Geospatial Data Stewards will be held during this conference. The National Coal <br /> Mining Geospatial Committee (NCMGC)will be meeting in open session with all data stewards to discuss <br /> accomplishments and plans since the June, 2006 national meeting. Topics will focus on activities promoting the use of <br /> geospatial technology in SMCRA programs. Don't miss this important meeting! <br /> In addition,the conference will include sessions for managers discussing the business case scenario for incorporating <br /> geospatial technologies into the SMCRA business process.
