T
- L
GROUND WATER P_1ONITORING REFUSE PILE
Eight ground water monitoring wells have been installed
above, within and downslope from the coal processing waste pile at
locations approved by the Division. One well is above, one below
and six within the waste' pile. They are cased with 2" P .V.C. tubing
with the lower section perforated.
Monitoring on a monthly basis commenced in October 1982 .
Mid-Continent agrees that if the monitoring results demonstrate
that the ground water conditions encountered within the coal
processing waste pile differs significantly, in the opinion of
the Division, from those assumptions made in completing the
stability analysis , thel''analysis shall be revised appropriately.
If a revised stability analysis suggests that design revisions
•
are necessary in order to achieve a static slope safety factor in
excess of 1 . 5, the appropriate design revisions and plan revisions
shall be accomplished by the company in an expeditious manner.
(Stipulation 24)
I-21 (Vol. 3, Chap. II, App. II-B-8)
