Dear Jim:
Enclosed are comments on sediment control structure questions
in your letter of February 24 , 1982.
Mines 1 & 2
1. Second Pond at No. 1 Pond
• A second or primary pond was constructed at the
site to help alleviate the problem of removing the
super fines that have been prevalent at this location.
Enclosed is a sketch showing the placement of this pond
and sizing. (40'x70'x6 '=0.4A.F. ) 18" cmp discharge
pipe into second pond.
2 . Small pond on north end of pad No. 4 .
This pond was never constructed,. see II-B-App. 7-
Att.l , Exhibit 2 which shows correct drainage from pad
No. 4 . The small pond shown on Exhibit 1 has been
deleted.
3 . Diversion ditches, conduit conveyance pipes No. 1
& 2 pads. See Volume 3, App. II-B-7 , Pages 17' thru 39
and maps II-B-App. 7-Att. 1, Exhibit 1, 2 and 3 .
4 . Pond spillway and dewatering
a. Dewatering of this pond is by pump.
b. A"spillway will be constructed in the west
corner of the dam (See sketch item 1. ) . This will be
an invert type spillway constructed of rock rip rap.
The dimensions will be, one foot deep and. four feet
across the bottom and five feet across the top (1x4.5'
=4 .5 sq.ft. at 1.5 FPS = 6.75 cfs. discharge)
