-Diversion ditch east of hoist house, surge hopper and rotary breaker should be built up to avoid any overflow of water. Processing Waste Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Grading appeared to allow good run- off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile- 5 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches. Support Facilities Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. No problems were noted with the exception of the following: -No coal waste should be addressed and disposed of in and around all collection ditches throughout the site. The area around the rock dust tank RDH-2 was stable at the time of the inspection with no problems noted. The load out area was stable at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. The train was in the process of being loaded at the time of the inspection. The area in and around the slot storage appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No erosion was noted on the pad or the slopes of the pad at the time of the inspection. Fish and Wildlife BME was has been continuing to attempt to keep the raptors off of the power lines and transformers near the fresh water lagoon. At the time of this inspection, it appeared that no further nesting has taken place at any other location besides the platform constructed for nesting. Raptors were observed in nests at designated locations at the time of the inspection. All other locations were fixed with raptor protection to ensure the safety of the birds. Revegetation Grasses are beginning to come up on the reclaimed refuse pile RP-1, this site, along with the entire are of the mine, has experienced a heavy amount of cheatgrass. Revegetation efforts will not be evident for perhaps a month or two. There did not appear to be any problems with weeds or erosion at the time of the inspection. Revegetation of the east portal was established with good cover. Reclamation Success Refuse Pile,RP-1 has been reclaimed and is stable with no problems noted. Vegetation appears to be coming in a high amount with no problems noted. The east portal site has been reclaimed and has shown to be stable with no signs of erosion and good vegetation establishment. Overall, the Deserado Mine is in good condition and appears to be conducting operations as required.
