-Diversion ditch east of hoist house, surge hopper and rotary breaker should be built up to avoid any <br /> overflow of water. <br /> Processing Waste <br /> Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Grading appeared to allow good run- <br /> off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile- 5 appeared to be well compacted and stable. <br /> Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. <br /> No problems were noted with the exception of the following: <br /> -No coal waste should be addressed and disposed of in and around all collection ditches throughout <br /> the site. <br /> The area around the rock dust tank RDH-2 was stable at the time of the inspection with no problems <br /> noted. <br /> The load out area was stable at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. The train was in <br /> the process of being loaded at the time of the inspection. <br /> The area in and around the slot storage appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No <br /> erosion was noted on the pad or the slopes of the pad at the time of the inspection. <br /> Fish and Wildlife <br /> BME was has been continuing to attempt to keep the raptors off of the power lines and transformers <br /> near the fresh water lagoon. At the time of this inspection, it appeared that no further nesting has <br /> taken place at any other location besides the platform constructed for nesting. Raptors were observed <br /> in nests at designated locations at the time of the inspection. All other locations were fixed with raptor <br /> protection to ensure the safety of the birds. <br /> Revegetation <br /> Grasses are beginning to come up on the reclaimed refuse pile RP-1, this site, along with the entire <br /> are of the mine, has experienced a heavy amount of cheatgrass. Revegetation efforts will not be <br /> evident for perhaps a month or two. There did not appear to be any problems with weeds or erosion <br /> at the time of the inspection. Revegetation of the east portal was established with good cover. <br /> Reclamation Success <br /> Refuse Pile,RP-1 has been reclaimed and is stable with no problems noted. Vegetation appears to be <br /> coming in a high amount with no problems noted. The east portal site has been reclaimed and has <br /> shown to be stable with no signs of erosion and good vegetation establishment. <br /> Overall, the Deserado Mine is in good condition and appears to be conducting operations as required. <br />
