No.: Primary Refuse Disposal Area <br />Inspection Period: Fourth Quarter 2007 <br />Inspection Date: January 3, 2008 <br />Gen®ral Description or Reference to Site Plan: <br />MAC ~ ~ 2008 <br />~' V ~- _ , • ceclamatiu <br />h1it~~ir-g and Safety <br />The refuse area lies west of the main facilities area. Refuse has been placed in designed lifts <br />on a relatively flat terrain. Upslope runoff is diverted away from the disposal area, while runoff <br />from the disturbed area is channeled to a sediment control pond. The mine is in final <br />reclamation and all anus have been sloped to final grade, covered with topsoil, and seeded <br />and mulched. <br />Activity During Inspection: <br />Area is inactive with no personnel or equipment on-site. Site was snow covered with <br />no evidence of significant erosion observable. <br />Perimeter side ditches were open and functional. Cracks, slumps or other signs of <br />potential failure were not obveerved. <br />Drainage: {Discussion of springs. seeps, overland and channel flow, underdrain construction and/or <br />discharge, integrity of 100-year 24-hour drainage structures, and evidence of positive drainage). <br />No springs or seeps were observed on the refuse surface. Positive drainage has been maintained <br />on the reclaimed areas. Drainage and diversion structures were intact All n~uired underdrain <br />construction has been completed. <br />Observation of Fip Construction: {Description of material, compaction, lift thicknesses, slopes, <br />and construction methods). <br />No refuse placement has occurred since December of 2000. Prior to cessation of mining, waste <br />material was placed in attemating lifts of fine and coarse material in accordance with the plan as <br />described in the TerraMatroc report dated December 5, 1996. <br />
