III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
General Comments
This was an aerial inspection of Munger Canyon Mine. The flight was on 4/22/08. Harry Ranney of DRMS
recorded 2 oblique digital images. One image was of the reclaimed portal bench and upper-most segment of the
reclaimed upper access road. The second image was a very high elevation oblique, covering the entire
disturbed area along Munger Canyon, from the reclaimed mine bench down to Highway 139. The site was
completely free of snow at the time of the flight.
The portal area silt fence installations could be discerned and appeared to be intact. There was no evidence of
sliding or excessive erosion either on the reclaimed hillslopes or along the riprapped channels. The waste
disposal area sediment pond appeared to be dry.
There was no activity evident at the reclaimed site and no problems were noted.
3
