MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT <br />For Season 2007 <br />GLACIER PEAK MINING <br />PERMIT NO. M-2003-030 <br />Prepared: 8 May 2008 <br />Summary: <br />Glacier Peak Mining LLC operated mechanized equipment on the Smoky Hawk and Elk Horn <br />mining claims from 15 May through 15 June in Teller County, Colorado to produce amazonite, <br />smoky quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other crystallized mineral specimens. The equipment was <br />idle for seven of those days. John Deere 992 and 690 track hoes were used along with an <br />appropriate air compressor for chipping hammers and a water buffalo. Operations were <br />conducted at Site B on the Smoky Hawk claim exclusively this season. Follow-on mineral <br />removal, prospecting, reclamation, and claim upkeep continued on all Glacier Peak claims <br />through 25October 2007. <br />Permit M-2003-030 Changes 2007: <br />Glacier Peak Mining submitted an amendment to include limited blasting at Site B on the Smoky <br />Hawk claim. The blasting plan was approved on 12 June 2007. The U.S.F.S. approved the <br />amendment 9 Nov 2007. <br />Map Depicting Operations: <br />Attached is a map showing the five claims covered under this permit. The fifteen proposed and <br />active excavation sites covered by this permit aze shown by the letters A through Q and are <br />indicated with rectangular boxes. An orange azea within a rectangulaz box indicates an open <br />excavation where work will resume this season (2008). Presently, there is one open excavation, <br />Site B, on the Smoky Hawk. A blue shaded box indicates a reclaimed area of one year or with <br />less than 80 percent growth. A green shaded box shows azeas that have been mined, reclaimed, <br />and have 80 percent or better growth. <br />Current Disturbances (2007: <br />During 2007 Site B which was partially reclaimed was reYopened and extended uphill for a total <br />combined disturbance of 0.76 acre. An additiona10.11 acre remain at Site B which is reclaimed. <br />The azea was re-opened to accommodate proposed blasting neaz the center south edge of the <br />disturbed area. This site was temporarily seeded with regreen and bermed to protect the area <br />from erosion over the winter. Additionally, an access trail was re-opened across Site A to access <br />this site. <br />
