(2) Wood vegetation shall be removed:Since the proposed site of the mining operation is a <br />commercial sad farm, there is no woody vegetation. <br />(3) Storage, location, configuration of topsoil stockpiles for control of erosion and <br />protection from mining operations: Stockpiles will be co~gured to minimize erosion <br />and will be located in areas where disturbance by ongoing mining operations will be <br />minimized. As stated in 3.19(1) above, Protection of topsoil, topsoil stockpiles will be <br />seeded for stabilization, as necessary. <br />(4} Relocation of topsoil stockpiles: Topsoil stockpiles will be located such that topsoil <br />will only be handled twice, once at the time of removal and again when replaced on the <br />regarded areas. <br />(5) Stabilization measures of replaced topsoil on regarded areas: 'The Operator will <br />take meauwes appropriate to the subgrade where topsoil is being replaced. Such measwes <br />may include roughing the surface in order to gain a mechanical bond between the subgrade <br />and the replaced topsoil. Where the subgrade is of acceptable quality, it may include disc <br />plowing the topsoil and subgrade together, a practice typically used by commercial <br />landscapers. <br />(6) Segregation of other materials for nse as topsoil: No replacement or substitute <br />materials will be needed. Excess topsoil exists on site to complete reclamation requirements. <br />(Please seethe MRCS soil report attached) <br />(7) Replacement criteria and soil amendments: The Operator will replace topsoil in <br />as even a manner as equipment allows. Soil amendments will be as recommended by the <br />local NRCS. Presently, they recommend that if soil tests are not preformed, that forty (40) <br />pounds per acre of each of the major nutrients nitrogen and phosphoric acid (PaOs) be <br />applied. They also recommend that a combination of mulch or other organic matter and a <br />nutrient source such aswell-cured feedlot or barnyard manure be applied. The recommend <br />application rate should be at least twenty (20) tons per acre and that it is evenly spread. The <br />manwe must contain at least 60% (by weight) large chunks, five inches or more in diameter. <br />Granular or powdery manure will not meet specifications. <br />(8) Piles of vegetation: Vegetative piles, if any, will be minimal and shall be utilized in the <br />reclamation of the mine site. <br />3.1.10 Revegetation: <br />(1) Establishment of a diverse, effective and long lasting vegetative cover that is capable <br />ofself-regeneration without continued maintenance: The majority of the reclaimed areas <br />will be developed water resowce. In those areas where revegetation occws, the Reclamation <br />Plan has been designed for site stabilization and erosion control. The degree of vegetative <br />
