Memorandum in Response to Notice of Determination of Designation Mining Operation (DMO); DRMS File Numbers <br />M-1977-416, M-1978-039 HR, M-1977-285, M-1980-055 HR, M-1981-021 and M-1977-032. <br />• Meteoric Water Mobility Procedure on three representative waste rock samples <br />from each mine (nine samples total) to evaluate their potential to produce other <br />toxic-forming materials. <br />• Submission of engineered drainage reports that show protection of surface water <br />quality from engineered best management practices at the mine sites. <br />• A review of existing geotechnical information, to assess the potential for impact <br />to groundwater from the waste rock areas, will be conducted and reported in <br />hydrogeologic reports. <br />• Soils testing will be conducted on samples from undisturbed and unaffected areas <br />at the toes of the waste rock areas (three samples for each,~;mine, nine samples <br />t, <br />total) to show background conditions and provide data,for transport models. This <br />~1'` <br />information will be provided in reports to the Division: <br />}*u: ~ _ <br />A brief discussion of the proposed Phase 2 EPP preparation is pro~~~ided in this <br />memorandum for each category outlined in the Colorado:;Hard RocklNletal Mining Rule <br />6, Sections 6.2.40 (1) through (19). Denison proposes that the Phase 2 proposal be <br />revisited based on the Phase 1 data.
