2
operational statistics are calculated for all data prior to the reporting period.
Numeric protective levels (NPL) and early warning indicators (EWI) are shown for
each constituent at each well where these statistical values apply. Comparison
of the data values with the Early Warning Indicators (EWI) and the Numeric
Protective Levels (NPL) indicates two dissolved boron values above the
calculated limits during the sample period.
Analysis of the data collected in the 30t" Quarter shows one data point for
dissolved boron slightly elevated above the NPL indicator at Uinta well 21-3U.
The sample, collected in March 2008, indicates a value for dissolved boron of 3.7
mg/L. The calculated NPL for this constituent at this monitoring point is 3.64
mg/L, a difference of 0.06 mg/L. The baseline mean value for dissolved boron is
3.25 mg/L computed from 15 baseline samples. The operational mean value
determined from 65 total samples is 2.90 mg/L. The maximum value observed in
the baseline program was 7 mg/L. The value of dissolved boron at alluvial well
21-3U has exceeded the NPL indicator twice before during the period of record
(2/15/00 baseline value of 7 mg/L and 12/5/06 value of 4.1 mg/L).
Well 21-3U
Water Elevation and Boron Concentration
8
I 7
J 6
5
4
3
6 2
1
Numeric Protective Level = 3.64 mg/L
Operational
0 •------ -------- --- - -
~ ~ $ g ~ g ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
r. ~ r~ c~1 n ~ c'1 ~ ~ cif n
Date
,_- Water ~evation ~--cam--Boron, dissolved
~ ~ ~
6095'
6094
6093
6092
6091
~ ~' 6090
ti m 6089
60881
Temporary 6087
Suspension anaa
----r--- 6085
~ ~
Boron Numeric Protective Level
