Caltanv <br /> Division Director <br /> Natural Resource Trustee <br />'1'O: Y7an Mathews, Marcia Talvitie <br />FRAM: Mike Boulay <br />l')ATE: Apri129, 2008 <br />SLT>BJECT: Red Cliff Mine Project (Permit No. C-2008-086) <br />New Permit Application Completeness Review <br />On Apri125, 200$ we received the new permit application package for the Red Cliff Mine. 1 am <br />requesting assistance from each of you in reviewing the application for completeness. 7 apologize for <br />the short notice, but we will need to determine whether or not the application is complete by May S, <br />zoos. <br />I would like each of you to review the application to determine if there are instances of insufficient <br />information regarding required baseline data for vegetation, soils, and wildlife or a lack of <br />engineering design information for the coal processing waste disposal area, roads or other facilities. <br />The application could potentially be deemed incomplete based on a lack of required baseline data or <br />obviously deficient engineering design inforrnatian. <br />Copies wore sent to each of our respective offices for review, I would like to-have your <br />completeness determinations done by the close of business on May 2, 2008.
