~} ~
Ms. Candace Thompson
Page 2
July 20, 1987
#6 .Area is the top of the pile between both ridges, it
is just about flat with a slight slope to the north
and a portion to the west. We would replace all
topsoil removed 5 1/2" avg. Note: it has been our
experience on the Sutey property to recover more
topsoil then surveyed as the terrain has deep pockets
' of topsoil ran down spaced across the valley. i.e.
last week 7/9/87 the cat operator was removing 5' of
topsoil from an area that was suppose to have 22". 5
1/2" of topsoil on a flat top of a refuse pile is more
than enough to sustain growth. See Tom Colbert VEG
Study on the old ref use pile. (Vol. 6, App 111-H-4)
3. No topsoil will be salvaged when snow is on the
ground. The vegetation reference area will have posts
placed at 100' intervals and a 25' buffer zone
established to project the area.
4. Phase I Pond Reclamation Costs - One pond approximately
• 145' x 200' = 29,000. sq.ft. 0.67 acre. Distrubed area.
The culverts, overflow pipes and other man made
structures can be dug out and loaded in a dump truc k
in a maximum of 8 hours.
214 B ackhoe - $58 Per Hr. x 8 = $464.
966 Loader - $68 Per Hr. x 2 = $126.
Dump Truck 44D - $44 Per Hr x 2 = $ 88-
$688
Backfilling of one pond will be accomplished with a
D-8 dozer for an average push distance of 100 feet. A
D-8 dozer can push 900 cubic yards per hour at this
distance.
6500. cu.yd. divided by 900 = 7.2 hrs.
@ 118/hr = $849.60
Topsoling = 29,000 sq.ft. x .88 (Area #5) = 25,520
divided by 27 = 945. cu yds divided by 120 = 7.9 hrs.
Note: 966 loader $68 x 8 hrs. _ $544.00
Short haul, topsoil pile close to pond Total $2082.00
• Phase I - Pond Reclamation Bond $2,082.00
MLRD Indirect Costs 20$ = 416.40_
(What was the Board decision on $3498.40
percentage of indirect. costs)
91
