June 1983).
The trommel screen rock is 6" to 10" in dia. (90`~ roof
rock out of It?roes 1, 2, 3 and 5). Total trommel screen rock
per month averages 1,042 tons, or 12,500 tons per year (total
that will be added to tunnel fill).
j9e will run an analysis on trommel screen rock itself;
lout included in this letter also is the roof rock analysis
from our application.
In Volume 2, Appendix 11-B-5 Rock Tunnel Project--the
Lincoln-Devore report, Slope Stability Analysis, page 30 I
quote: "The compacted fill will probably behave as a clay."
and "It is unlikely that the fill .itself will ever become
saturated." Taking these statements into consideration, if
~~.~e deposit the tro:rmel screen rock in 1.0 foot lifts and stop
the lift horizontally 4.0 feet from the outside of the pile,
then deposit tunnel rock on top, we gill have a sandwich
effect that will not only be environmentally sound, but will
have good stability a.s well.
On page 39 of the Lincoln-Devore report, "A rough cal-
culation of the volurie of the fill based on these (:'aid-
Continent's) sections indicated a potential yardage of about
500,000 cubic yards of fill."
57 , . ,
