Pubic Notice -Newspaper Advertisement <br />CAM-Colorado, LLC, P.O. Box 1169 Pikeville, KY, 41502-1169, has submitted a complete <br />application for a permit to conduct coal mining in Colorado to the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety for its proposed Red Cliff Mine. The proposed operation will mine and ship <br />up to eight million clean tons of coal per year. Most of the coal will be sent through a coal <br />preparation plant to remove rock and low quality coal from the clean coal stream. A coal mine <br />waste disposal area will be constructed to permanently store the rock and low quality coal. <br />Clean coal will be transported from the mine by a proposed rail spur that is not regulated by the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. <br />The mine facilities are located east of State Highway 139 near mile marker 12. The <br />Government Highline Canal is located south of the mine facilities. The proposed mine permit <br />area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Highline Lake, Garvey Canyon and <br />Howard Canyon Quadrangle maps within the following sections. <br />Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 27: All <br />Section 28: All <br />Section 33: All <br />Section 34: All <br />Township 8 South, Range 102 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 2: All <br />Section 3: All <br />Section 4: Lots 5-20 incl., 18, 19, 20, N/2 <br />Section 9: Lot 3, 6, E/2NW/4, E/2SW/4, NE/4, SE/4 <br />Section 10: W/2 <br />Section 15: N/2N/2NW/4 <br />Section 16: Lot 1, 2, 3, 4, E/2NW/4, N/2NE/4 <br />Section 19: SW/4 of Lot 13 <br />A 430-foot wide strip of land, approximately 9,100 feet long lying in portions of <br />Sections 17, 18 & 19 for a haul road. <br />Containing 6,300 acres more or less <br />The proposed Red Cliff Mine permit boundary contains 6,300 acres of land that is all located on <br />Federal surface. The minerals within the proposed permit area are all owned by the Federal <br />Government. <br />A copy of the permit application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and <br />Recorder's office, 544 Rood Ave., Grand Junction, CO.
