annually at a minimum with the approved DRM&S grass seed mix. (wetland and <br />riparian varieties will be added etc...All reclamation at the site will be concurrent <br />with mining and any and all existing topsoil and/or usable cover soils will be <br />stripped as necessary, when encountered, as mining activities progress. Re- <br />grading/sloping and seeding will be annual or as soon as possible depending on <br />planting schedules. <br />Sufficient top soil should be available for reclamation to at least 8 inches. The <br />approximate < 3 acre operations area located at the site access gate will be stripped <br />and the topsoil will be stockpiled next to the south fence for final reclamation. The <br />operations and stockpiling area at the gate will be the final reclamation area at the <br />site. Generally, by that date, almost all pond edge reclamation will have been <br />completed except for the final 750 t0 1000 feet of pond edges. With the concurrent <br />reclamation at the site, the final site reclamation area will be approximately 4.0 <br />acres or less. Final surfaces will be graded up to the access gate area, perimeter <br />roads completed and reclamation will be complete. <br />The methods of reclamation will be as per methods and seed mix used <br />and recommended by the DRM&S for other similar local pasture areas <br />as follows: 2-ton straw mulch/acre and weed control will be as necessary. <br />Seedbeds will be firm and clean tilled as possible with the limited rocky <br />surface material available at the site. Final slopes in unconsolidated <br />material graded to no steeper than 3:1. Steeper slopes in competent <br />bedrock may be steeper but should blend-in with the natural terrain and <br />must be stable. All level areas and graded slopes to be seeded and <br />vegetated. <br />2. Species recommended or reclamation are: (Rate should be doubled for <br />broadcast seeding) <br />Bluebunch Wheatgrass 5.0 PLS per acre <br />Western wheatgrass 2.9 PLS per acre <br />Crested Wheatgrass 2.0 PLS per acre <br />Indian Ricegrass 1.0 PLS per acre <br />A total of 44.0 PLS will be required for final Gate area 4.0 <br />acres of reclamation. <br />After replacement of topsoil on, areas scheduled for reclamation, seedbeds will be <br />prepared using a disc type plow or spring rake harrow.
