EXHIBIT L - Reclamation Cost
As stated above in Exhibit D-(d Mining Plan - Description of Methods, The size
of any operations area would be dependent on the amount of room needed for any
production stockpiles for large volume projects. All operations will be within the
pond/excavation footprint areas. All excavated areas within the pond footprint will
become a pond water surface or part of the < 3:1 sloped pond edge. The final
operations area at the site will be an approximate 3 acre area, located between
the site gate and the southern end of both ponds. This approximate 3 acre area
will be the only area requiring reclamation at the completion of site mining
activities. All pond edges and perimeter roads will have been completely
reclaimed and constructed by the end of final pond excavation. With a 50 foot
wide maximum pond perimeter topsoil stockpile/road "halo" or "buffer" area, a total
of 9.80 acres will have been concurrently reclaimed. All of the concurrently
reclaimed and other disturbed areas between the pond, on pond edges and adjacent
perimeter roads will be graded have topsoil replaced and seeded annually at a
minimum with the approved DRM&S grass seed mix.(wetland and riparian varieties
will be added etc... )
It is anticipated that there will be some pond edges still requiring
reclamation along the south ends of either or both ponds at the time that the
equipment operations area shifts off the last areas of pond(s) limits to the "final
set-up" area by the south fence and gate. The final operations area within the pond
footprint(s) could then be mined to the planned pond(s) limits. Leaving only the final
remnant shoreline edges and the "off pond" final equipment operations area to
reclaim reclaim.
A remnant 750 to 1000 feet of pond shoreline edges within the maximum 50 foot
wide perimeter buffer/topsoil/stockpile/road area (along/above the final) would
amount to an additional .75 to 1.0 acre requiring final sloping topsoil placement and
seeding. The perimeter road would then be finished-out and other trees/shrubs,
wetland and riparian vegetation varieties will be added as in prior concurrent
reclamation by the landowner/applicant in order to establish more diverse habitat.
The final 3 acre operations area would then be ripped, graded and have topsoil
replaced to at least 8 inches thick and seeded with the mixed pasture grass seed mix.
With concurrent pond edge reclamation during the project (with minimum
annual sloping, topsoil replacement and seeding) the total area at the site
requiring final reclamation activities will be approximately 4.0 acres.
