Table 4 summaries the proposed commercial production monitoring plan. During commercial
operation water levels will be monitored: continuously using water level probes at dissolution surface
monitoring sites, and monthly with a manual measuring device at all other locations. Information
provided from the first five years of operation indicates that water level monitoring is the best primary
indicator of an influence from solution mining. Ground-water sampling would continue to take place on
a quarterly frequency. All proposed laboratory and field constituents are the same for both the temporary
suspension and commercial production time periods. The only difference is the frequency stipulated for
level measurements. In the event that the monitoring data indicate elevated occurrences of constituents,
increased monitoring frequency may be required.
1\o water quality sampling is required at Well 20-4A in either the interim status or conunercial
production ~l~onitoring plans. Well 20-4A is a re-completed B-Groove numitorin~ well that shows
elevated pI1 as a result of cement contact through the wJell perforations. Only water level data is of value
from this well. Well 19-3 was drilled to detect leakage from an evaporation pond that was never
constructed, and has never had sufficient water to collect a sample. ~'4'ell 19-3 will be checked for water
level during each sampling event and if suff cient water is present a sample will he collected.
Table 3 -Temporary Suspension -Monitoring Plan
Well Water Levels I Field Water Quality Parameters
Parameters See Table _5 for schedule)
~requency j Quarterly Quarterly Quarterly
~ Well 28-1 X X X
Well 21-2 X X _ X
Well 21-5
- X
- _ X X
-
Well 19-3 X ~ When sufficient water is present to collect
sample.
U er A uifer-Units

We11 20-8
X
X ___
X
Well 21-4U _
Well21-3U X
X X ~
X X _
~
Well 29-4U _ X _
X
X X
Well 20-10
---- X X X
Well 20-5 X - -- X
X
Upper Aquifer - A Gro
Wel 121-3A ! ove
X --
~ X
-
Well21-~1.A X _ -
- - - X
_ X X
Well 29-4A __ I X X X
Well 29-3 X X X
Well 19-2 X X X
Well 20-4A X

Lower A uifer - B Gro
Well 21-36
ove
X - -
_
X

Well 21--1B- -- ----
- X .
,
~,
X
-- X --- - X
Well 29-2 X
F[NAL Aeidendum to SOB For Modification No. 9, UIC Area Permit Vo. 0030858-00000 Page 19 vJ'?9
