Sample collection <br />Sample filtration <br />Field QA/QC procedures <br />The wells are equipped with dedicated sampling equipment. In the event dedicated equipment is <br />inoperable, clean, decontaminated equipment will be used for all sampling activities. <br />Decontamination will be performed in accordance with the procedures given in Appendix D - <br />Standard Operating Procedure for Equipment Decontamination. <br />6.2 Calibration Procedures and Frequency <br />All instruments and equipment used during sampling and analysis will be operated, calibrated, <br />and maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations, aswell as <br />criteria set forth in the applicable analytical methodology references. Calibration, operation, and <br />maintenance will be performed by personnel properly trained in these procedures. <br />Documentation of all routine and special maintenance and calibration will be maintained in <br />appropriate field records. <br />Field instrumentation will be calibrated on-site at the beginning of each sampling day, or at any <br />time that instrument readings are questionable. Calibration of the pH, conductivity, and <br />temperature meters will be performed as outlined in Appendix C -Standard Operating Procedure <br />for Ground Water and Surface Water Sampling. <br />6.3 Data Validation and Reporting <br />Data will be evaluated for precision, accuracy, and completeness. Validation of field data is <br />performed by internal procedures audit. All analytical data reports will be evaluated within 30 <br />days of receipt from the laboratory. Analytical laboratory data will be sent to required agencies <br />and made available for inspection and maintained in a central job file. All records will be <br />maintained for the life of the mine. Types of records to be maintained for this project include the <br />following: <br />Field log books <br />Chain-of-custody and Sample Analysis Request Forms <br />Case narrative reports describing any discrepancy or deficiency <br />Laboratory analytical reports <br />All supporting QC information <br />Internal Quality Control Checks <br />6.4 Quality Control Checks <br />FINAL: Modification No. 9, UIC Area Permit No. C030858-00000 <br />Page 36 of 46 <br />
