MI ING PLAN • ~ EXHIBIT D lcoNr 1 <br />Please refer to the MINING TIMETABLE on page 14 for the estimated <br />acreage of each area associated with this operation. <br />Mining equipment may include but is not limited to, front- <br />end loaders, fork lifts, scrapers, a dragline, a boom truck, <br />bulldozers, dump trucks and a water truck. The only processing <br />to take place will be the sorting of the stone for resale. This <br />can only be done by hand so no processing equipment will be on <br />the site. <br />This pit will be operated year-round by Siloam Stone weather <br />permitting. There may be periods when the market demand for <br />materials is slow and no mining will take place. This could <br />exceed 180 days but will most likely average no more that forty-- <br />five days at a time. However, stockpiles of material will be <br />maintained on the site and the stone yard will be used, year- <br />round. <br />This is a two stage operation, but the amount of disturbance <br />will be limited to 20 acres (or an area consistent with the bond <br />coverage) at any one time. This will allow us to have approxi- <br />mately 5 acres disturbed in Stage 2, and 15 acres in Stage 1 <br />where the slab mining activities take place. Reclamation will <br />begin once we have removed loose stone and the area mined can be <br />reclaimed without having to disturb it again. <br />The stone yard on this site is used by Siloam Stone as a <br />place where clients can be brought to view available products, <br />and as a place to store the stone after it has been mined. It is <br />not included in bond calculation or the limited disturbance area <br />because it also accepts stone material we purchase from other <br />mining operations in the area. This stone yard will remain when <br />mining is complete so it is reclaimed as its intended end use <br />now. <br />The surface drainage will be maintained, as much as possi- <br />ble, in the same direction as it now exists. The proposed <br />sloping plan for the excavated area should eliminate any concerns <br />of erosion occurring on the site or areas off the site being <br />adversely affected. All interior pit slopes will be maintained <br />with a pit-ward attitude and the historic drainage patterns will <br />be maintained. This same slope management plan will prevent any <br />offsite slides or other disruptions. This site is elevated above <br />the surrounding area and we do not expect to have a problem with <br />stormwater entering the disturbed area. No U.S. Army Corps of <br />Engineers 404 permit is necessary, there are no wetland areas on <br />site. <br />13 <br />
