Home Offiee Well Monitoring Report
legally mandated rates and the quality of the water provide an estimate of the impacts of any
potential changes on neighbors and the prevailing hydrologic balance.
1.4 Protocol Changes
Only the flow adjusted time series plot will be included for each well. Instead of a Tolerance
Limit analysis plot, the upper and lower tolerance limit values will be included. It should be
noted that the tolerance limit values would change as the number of data points increases due
to the fact that a high coverage level will be required.
2.0 Summary of Current Results
2.1 Measurement and Data Handling
Using the field data logs for each well, in addition to the specified standard procedures, data
has been collected between the dates of November 2001 and October 2005. The data
collected includes groundwater elevation, pH and conductivity. See the included well log sheets
in Appendix A. Flow information retrieved from the USGS website, gage 06752260, has also
been collected. The data set requirements have been fulfilled with this data and analysis of
during mining data has begun.
2.2 Data Analysis and Interpretation
Data from the time period between December 2001 and December 2004 will be the baseline
pre-mining data points. Mining data points will be compared to these values to determine if
mitigation efforts are necessary. The largest and the smallest data points for each well were
first removed. With the help of WQStat Plus software, data points can be flow adjusted and
deseasonalized. By flow adjusting the data, the flow effects can be removed and the
magnitude and statistical significance of trends not explained by flow are determined.
Deseasonalizing the data allows the seasonal affects to be removed and the overall mean for
the year to remain unchanged.
With the completion of flow adjustment and deseasonalization, tolerance limits can be
determined. The tolerance limits are the smallest and largest values of the manipulated data.
It is expected that each well will have different tolerance limits. The upper and lower tolerance
limit for each well is summarized in the table on the next page.
TST~ INC. CONSULTING ENCnINEE RS
Page 3
