Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a compete inspection of the Sunlight Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The permit for the site has been revoked and the reclamation was
completed by the Division. The weather was somewhat warm (mid-40's) and sunnyy
and the ground was covered with snow.
Signs and Markers: The Division's revoked mine site sign was in place and in good
condition at the time of the inspection.
The mine site was inaccessible at the time of the inspection due to snow. There was
still approximately one or more feet of snow at both the upper and lower areas of the
mine. The Sunlight Mine will be visited over the next several months (April and May)
to check the snow cover and once it has sufficiently melted, an inspection will be
conducted.
