of mine workings during COAG's underground prospecting activities. COAG will construct and
place the cover prior to beginning prospecting activity, so have not included the cost of the cover
in the One Site Prospecting Bond.
3. The proposed areas of bulk sampling could occur throughout the existing underground
workings in those areas not flooded. Please keep in mind that this is a prospecting operation to
conduct bulk sampling of various areas of the deposit to evaluate its potential for a future mining
operation. Bulk sampling will be based on the nature of the exposed potentially mineable seams.
It is not know at this time exactly which levels will be sampled or to what extent until COAG's
geologist or other qualified person. has had an opportunity to fully evaluate the underground
workings and develop a bulk sampling plan. No waste rock or ore will be stockpiled in surface
stockpiles. Waste rock will be disposed underground in the existing dry workings close to the
area of sampling but clear of the sampling activity. All ore brought to the surface will be placed
in existing bins close to the shaft and on the bench shown in the attached map. The ore bins will
be covered, keeping the ore dry. Ore will be shipped off site and out of state for analysis.
Therefore, the acid-forming nature of the material should not be an issue. Also, the drainage
system will be protected since no material will be placed on the ground surface or come into
contact with surface runoff.
4. As stated above, no materials will be stockpiled on the surface. Ore will be placed in
existing covered ore bins and shipped off-site and out of state for analysis.
5. Under the proposed NOI, two openings will be used. The primary opening will be the
operating hoist and shaft on the bench shown on the attached map. The other opening will be for
ventilation and will be protected with a cover designed and installed according to Division
specifications. The cover will be installed prior to beginning underground bulk sampling. The
primary entry will not be closed at the conclusion of the prospecting activity for two reasons.
First, the landowner desires to have the shaft and hoist building left in its existing condition and;
second, if COAG determines to follow-up with an active mining operation, it will need the
opening and hoist facility to continue to gain access. (The closure standards are included as
Exhibit I.)
6. Question (6) has a number of specific issues and will be addressed as separate items
below:
1. In the event that a mining permit is obtained, the NOI affected area will likely be included
in the proposed mine plan affected area. Therefore, no reclamation would be done under the
NOI permit.
If the NOI prospecting activity is completed and a mining permit is not obtained, COAG will
stabilize the affected areas as follows:
