Fish and Wildlife
As typically is the case, there was evidence of relatively heavy winter use of the site by deer, and a
herd of 18 mule deer were bedded along the brushy draw near the #1 Bench outslope when I arrived
at the site. Some relatively fresh elk sign was noted on the flat top of the bench. A covey of chukars
could be heard calling from concealed locations on the steep slope above the mine site.
