Nc+w Horizon Mine: 2007 Vegetation Samptirtg for Phase 3 8ortd Release
Table 2 shows the values for the t-test. Because tG is greater than ta, the nail hypothesis is
rejected, reclaimed area production is deemed to exceed Ct, and revegetatian is deemed
successful in 2007 for production.
Table 2. We completed 21 cover transec#s, and sample adequacy was
demonstrated. Production data and summary statistics are sown in Table A10. We sampled 49
pto#s without reaching sample adequacy, due to the uneven production in the reference area.
4.2 Drviand Pasture Phase 3 Band Release Area
Measurements of cover (live vegetation including annual plants) for each transect and summary
statistics are shown in Table A6. We ~mpfefed 23 cower transacts, and sample adequacy was
demonstrated when annual plants are included. Mean cover of live vegetation was 28.4%.
However, CDRMS regulations alines cover of annual vegetation to count towards demonstration
of bond release up to t0% of total cover, and beyond that to a maximum equal to the amount of
annual plant cover in the reference area.
