The site is within the Craig/Moffat County Fire Protection /EMS District <br />(northern), however closest response would be from Baggs Wyoming. All contractor site <br />equipment and. vehicles will be equipped with appropriate fire extinguishers and first aid. <br />Cell telephones and contractor supplied radios (in all vehicles) will be available at all <br />times. The site will operate under both OSHA and MSHA Federal Safety Standards. <br />(b) EaJ-thmoving; <br />All topsoil material will be stripped and stockpiled using bulldozers, <br />motorl;raders, tracked excavators and front-end loaders. All mined materials will <br />be excavated and handled onsite using bulldozers and front-end loaders, track <br />excavators and conveyors to feed the crusher/screening equipment spread and to <br />temporarily stockpile processed materials. Front-end loaders will be used to load <br />haul trucks. <br />(c) Water diversions and impoundments; <br />1. Mining will not expose groundwater. Silt fences, straw bales and/or berms will be . <br />erected a~~ound active mining areas so that they will not release sediments during <br />storm evE~nts. Site storm waters will be handled as specified in the Stormwater <br />Management Plan (SWMP) for the site. <br />2. There will be no water diversions and/or impoundments created. <br />3. The groundwater table will not be impacted by this operation. There are no wells in <br />the proposed area or within 200 feet of the proposed area of operations. There are no <br />planned inlets or outlets for creek waters. The proposed permit area has no current or <br />planned ponds, ditches or reservoirs. Silt fences and sediment retention berms or <br />ditches will be maintained alongside roads and excavation areas to reduce erosion and <br />limit runoff from storm events as necessary. <br />(d) The size of area(s) to be worked at any one time; <br />As stated above in Exhibit D-~a Mining Plan -Description of Methods, a <br />total of 61.00 acres is within the proposed permit area. The access road is I.3 <br />acres and the mine area is 59.70 acres. An approximate 20 acres in the Western <br />1/2 of the site (including the "Old Pit" and "Gate Operations" areas will be <br />ultimately disturbed by excavation, material processing activities and be <br />reclaimed. The Eastern 1 /2 of the permit area will only be used as a possible <br />source area for surplus cover soil material and disturbances will be minimal and <br />areas disturbed for cover soil borrow would be tilled and seeded concurrently. <br />
