•
Summary and Conclusions
MAC conducted an intensive cultural resources inventory of 20.4 acres of a block, 0.02
acres for a proposed access road, and 27.2 acres of reconnaissance in a subsidence zone for the
Northfield Coal Mine in Fremont County, Colorado. A total of three new sites and two new
isolated finds were discovered and recorded. The sites are all historic in age and include an
abandoned railroad grade (SFN2217.1), a historic rock inscription (SFN2220), and a historic
sheltered camp (SFN2221). They are all recommended to be not eligible for inclusion on the
NRHP and no further work is recommended. Isolated finds are by definition not eligible for
inclusion on the NRHP and no further work is recommended. MAC recommends a finding of
"no historic properties affected" for this project as staked at the time of survey.
References Cited
13
Baker, Steven G.
2007 Protohistoric and Historic Native Americans.
